Retiring Baby Boomers, Improved Economy Drive Up RV Sales [View]

Published: Sunday, August 9, 2015.
Summary: If you're seeing a lot of travel trailers and motor homes on the highway these days, it's more than a sign of summer. For the first time in a decade, the recreational-vehicle industry is poised to break production records. RV manufacturers are expected to ship 380,000 units this year, up 6.5% from 2014 and nearing the previous peak, set in 2006 before the recession. That's good news for Wisconsin dealerships and some manufacturers, as the state ranks 13th in the nation for receiving shipments of travel trailers and motor homes. The spending strength of baby boomers craving the RV lifestyle gets much of the credit.

Roadtrip: RV There Yet? [View]
Source: Sun Sentinel
Published: Thursday, August 6, 2015.
Summary: Elkhart, Indiana is a nice town you're likely to pass by on the Interstate if you're driving to Chicago from the east. Anyone who has ever played a wind instrument will probably recognize the town's name as the same one engraved in the bell of their Conn trumpet or on the label of their Selmer clarinet. Elkhart also has many recreational vehicle manufacturers and is known as the RV Capital of the World (maybe even the Universe, so take that, Pluto). It seems only appropriate, then, that they would be home to the RV/MH Hall of Fame (the RV stands for recreational vehicle and the MH is for manufactured home).
