Reston, Va. August, 2007—Conversion vehicle manufacturers will change their affiliation from Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) to the National Truck and Equipment Association (NTEA), effective October 1, 2007.

The manufacturers voted to make this change, which has been endorsed by RVIA, NTEA, DaimlerChrysler, Ford and General Motors, at a meeting held in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on June 27, 2007. RVIA and NTEA have been working since the vote to coordinate the administrative and logistical aspects of the transition.

“RVIA has represented and served the conversion vehicle industry for many years,” said RVIA President Richard Coon. “We believe that moving forward NTEA will be a better fit for the product development that the industry is pursuing. We will continue to work with NTEA to assist the conversion vehicle industry if a need should arise.”

“The NTEA is looking forward to serving the interests of the conversion vehicle manufacturers,” said NTEA Executive Director Jim Carney. “Their interests and requirements are very much in line with the core services such as regulatory compliance that the Association already provides to our other members.”
