RV Market Keeps On Rolling At National RV Trade Show

The RV industry’s 52ndNational RV Trade Show was equal parts celebration of the industry’s recovery from the effects of the recession, and resolve to sustain the growth into a sixth consecutive year. The show, held annually in Louisville, Ky, was attended by 7,525, a decline of 3% from 2013.

“Having the entire industry under one roof is an awesome sight,” said RVIA Vice President of Communications and Marketing James Ashurst. “Attendance was down slightly, but more than twenty-four hundred dealers came to make deals. And, the show continues to be a media attraction – we had national stories with Associated Press, CNBC and Bloomberg TV, which is outstanding exposure for the RV industry.”

Exhibitors were upbeat about the business they were able to conduct throughout the show.

“It was a tremendous show for us,” said Ashley Lehman, director of marketing with Jayco. “We enjoyed steady traffic throughout the event, the mood was positive, and we picked up new dealers across several of our brands.”

“This was a record show for us in terms of sales for our company,” said Mike Tribble, national sales manager for Livin’ Lite RV. “We were happy with the interest from prospective dealers who are not currently carrying our products, and our new Ignite and Ford-branded RVs really kept our display hopping.”

“This was a great show that was the culmination of our team reinventing the company over the past several years with great products and new ideas,” said Randy Potts, chairman, CEO and president of Winnebago. “We view this show as a terrific arena to showcase our products and build relationships with current and prospective dealers. I couldn’t be more pleased with the volume of traffic we had in our display and the very strong interest in our products.”

The palpable optimism also made its way into the news media. The show served as a focal point for a national reports by the Associated Press, which was published by an array of media markets around the country, including Atlanta, Chicago, and Denver, as well as major news outlets like US News & World Report, ABC News, and Salon.com. RV executives were also interviewed live from the show floor by business networks CNBC and Bloomberg TV.
