Captain Sullenberger to Speak at Outlook 2017

Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, who rose to international prominence when he successfully executed an emergency water landing in the Hudson River off Manhattan, will be a featured speaker at “Outlook 2017: The Road to Success,” RVIA’s popular breakfast program that launches the National RV Trade Show. The breakfast will be held Tuesday, Nov.  29, in the Kentucky Exposition Center (KEC) South Wing Mezzanine Ballroom with doors opening at 7 a.m. and the program beginning at 7:30 a.m.

While best known for serving as Captain during the “Miracle on the Hudson,” Sullenberger now works as an aviation safety expert and accident investigator. He serves as the CBS News Aviation and Safety Expert, and is the founder and CEO of Safety Reliability Methods, Inc., a company dedicated to management, safety, performance and reliability consulting.

At Outlook 2017, Sullenberger will tell his story of dedication and preparedness, revealing the important lessons he learned through his life, in his military service, and in his work as an airline pilot. He will share details from the 208 seconds that put his career on the line. Sullenberger will show how preparation, training and leadership makes a difference when confronted with a challenge. His life-long pursuit of learning and investing in himself shows the importance of education and preparedness, and illustrates that true leaders must lead by example. Sullenberger will inspire attendees to establish a foundation of passion for their work, build trust in each other, and commit to reaching for the highest standards.

Hosted by RVIA Chairman of the Board Bob Parish, “Outlook 2017: The Road to Innovation” will also feature:

  • RVIA President Frank Hugelmeyer’s thoughts on the state of the industry.
  • A multi-media presentation from the industry’s Go RVing and public relations team highlighting industry promotional achievements in 2016 while previewing what’s coming in 2017.

The Outlook program and breakfast are free for attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. All National RV Trade Show attendees are welcome, and no reservations are necessary. Show registration will be available in the South Wing Lobby C Entrance prior to the event.
