RESTON, Va., May 2007 – RVIA has added David Huether, chief economist for the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), to the lineup for “Forecast 2008,” joining Dr. Richard Curtin on the special Committee Week luncheon program set for Tuesday, June 12, from 12 noon – 2 p.m. at the Willard InterContinental Hotel.

Huether will present his outlook for the national economy, previewing the business environment that the RV industry will operate in over the next several years. Huether has been with NAM since 1997, acting as the organization’s economic forecaster as well as principal spokesperson on economic matters important to America’s industrial base. Prior to joining NAM, he worked as an economist in the Bureau of Economic Analysis at the U.S. Department of Commerce.

To be held annually, the Forecast luncheon is a new forum for RVIA to officially unveil Dr. Curtin’s industry outlook for the upcoming year. As director of the Consumer Research Center at the University of Michigan and author of RVIA’s RV Roadsigns forecast newsletter and RV Consumer Demographic Profile research, Curtin has a deep understanding of the RV market and tremendous insight on what the future holds for the industry.

RVIA President Richard Coon will round out the “Forecast 2008” program, providing his views on the RV market and the association.

For members not attending Committee Week, materials, presentations and edited footage from the “Forecast 2008” program will be available at rvia.org following the event.
