RVIA and RV Learning Center Renew Partnership To Provide Online RV Technician Certification Prep Course

RVIA and the RV Learning Center have renewed their partnership to provide the RV Technician Certification Preparation Course to working RV service technicians interested in taking the RVDA-RVIA RV Service Technician Certification Test.

The online course will be the focus of an RV Learning Center Town Hall conference call at 2 p.m. Eastern on January 26, where dealers, service managers, and technicians can learn more about the course and ask questions.  There is no charge to participate in the Town Hall.

“Every RV technician has access to this individual online study course,” said RVIA President Richard Coon and RVDA President Mike Molino in a joint statement.   “It is a proven program that has helped many technicians successfully prepare for the RV Technician Certification Test.”

RV technicians who complete the online RV Technician Certification Prep Course are significantly more likely to earn RVDA-RVIA Technician Certification than those who do not take the course.  A recent study showed that 79 percent of RV technicians who completed the online prep course passed the RVDA-RVIA Technician Certification test, compared to 61 percent of technicians who did not use the course to prepare for the test.

The course, developed by RVIA, combines text, audio, graphics, video, and a mentor led technician community forum. The sections within the certification preparation course correspond to the certification test sections. These sections include propane, electrical, plumbing, brakes, suspension and towing, appliances, generators, hydraulics, exterior, interior, expandable rooms, and miscellaneous tasks.

There are also practice tests after each chapter and a section that will provide immediate review and feedback.   The 205 question final practice test is timed so a technician can determine how he will perform under the three-hour time restraint of the certification test.

Since the RV Technician Certification Prep Course was launched in 2008, more than 930 RV service technicians have registered for the program.  Completion of the course also fulfills recertification requirements for existing certified technicians.

The course is available anytime, anywhere, and requires high-speed internet access. The price for the course starts at $249 for each technician with discounts available for registering four or more technicians.
