Barbara HillaryRESTON, Va., — Record-breaking attendance helped make the Nov. 27 “Outlook 2008: Starring YOU!” the most successful in the event’s history. A full house of 1,200 attendees packed the KEC South Ballroom to kick off RVIA’s 45th Annual National RV Trade Show.

Rulon GardnerHosted by RVIA Chairman Carl Pfalzgraf, the event featured stirring speeches by Olympic Gold Medalist Rulon Gardner and Barbara Hillary, the first black woman to reach the North Pole.  U.S. Interior Department Secretary Dirk Kempthorne brought the crowd to its feet with a talk praising the RV industry’s dynamism.

Coon predicted a decline in 2008 shipment levels to 334,200, but remarked,   “Let's keep the total 2008 forecast in perspective. The 334,200 units shipped would still be comfortably above the 10-year average."

Go RVing Coalition Co-Chairmen Don Walter of Starcraft RV and Tom Stinnett of Tom Stinnett RV Freedom Center were joined by RVIA Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Gary LaBella for “YOU Are Go RVing,” a presentation outlining the successes of the award-winning campaign and outlining Go RVing’s 2008 media plan.
