Shipments Topped 40,000 for Third Straight Month [View]
RVIA’s May Survey of manufacturers found RV wholesale shipments finished above 40,000 for the third month. Monthly wholesale shipments reached 45,853; an increase of 20.8% compared to May 2016. Year-to-date wholesale shipment totals are 209,014 units, up 12.2% compared to this point last year

RV Shipments Surging in 2017 to Highest Level Ever Continued Growth Expected for 2018, a Record 9th Straight Year [View]
The recreation vehicle (RV) industry’s shipments will reach 472,200 units in 2017, the highest annual total since the data has been collected, and a 9.6% increase from the number shipped last calendar year, announced Frank Hugelmeyer, President of the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA).

RV Shipments to Maintain Fourth Month of Growth over 2016 [View]
RVIA’s April survey of manufacturers found RV wholesale shipments finished above 40,000 for the second month. Monthly shipments totaled 42,295; an increase of 5.6% compared to last April. Year-to-date wholesale RV shipments have reached 163,161 units, up 10.1% when compared to totals through last April 2016.

RVIA’s TnT Program Seeking Additional Partnerships in 2018 [View]
The highly successful Technician in Training (TnT) Program administered by RVIA is looking to include more suppliers in their hands-on training program. RVIA’s Education Department works with industry supplier members to provide product-specific, hands-on training to technicians in dealerships nationwide. The Association provides a representative to schedule training in the dealership, enrollment of participants and a reimbursement stipend for the trainer’s travel expenses.

U.S. Department of Interior Secretary, Ryan Zinke will address RVIA members as the Tuesday luncheon keynote speaker during Committee Week, taking place in Washington, D.C. June 4-8. The U.S. Department of the Interior has enormous influence on the outdoor recreation economy and RV industry through management of our nation’s iconic public lands. Secretary Zinke, a lifelong outdoorsman and long-time friend of the RV industry, owns a 38’ Newmar Class A motorhome and enjoys the RV lifestyle. RVIA Launches Top Tech Challenge Contest [View]
RVIA announced the launch of the first annual “Top-Tech Challenge,” set to take place at the National RV Trade Show in Louisville, KY, November 26-30, 2017. RV Technicians are invited to compete live in a head-to-head competition in Louisville to earn the title of Top Tech and $10K. The challenge will pit eight finalists against each other at the show and the final round will take place over the four-day period in a single elimination troubleshooting competition encompassing three different types of technical challenges.

RVIA Advocates For Increased Access To Public Lands and Use of Public-Private Partnerships During Congressional Hearing [View]
Today, Jay Landers, RVIA’s vice president of government affairs, testified before Congress on the $50 billion economic impact of the recreation vehicle (RV) industry. Throughout the hearing, held by Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection Subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Landers highlighted the growth and expansion the RV industry is currently experiencing, including the 290,000 jobs the industry supports and the challenge to fill the new jobs the industry is creating. In their opening statements, many committee members recalled wonderful experiences vacationing in RVs.

Senior Administration Officials and Recreation Industry Leaders Discuss Recreation Expansion and Improvements [View]
Senior officials from the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) and U.S. Forest Service met with more than 30 representatives of the outdoor recreation industry at Shenandoah National Park on April 24 to discuss improving visitor experiences on America’s public lands and waters. The meeting was hosted by the Outdoor Recreation Industry Roundtable (ORIR) at Skyland Resort – operated by National Park concessioner Delaware North.

RVIA Set to Engage in Extensive Research to Investigate Optimal Timing for the National Trade Show [View]
RVIA is working with an independent research firm, Stax, Inc., to conduct extensive research to identify opportunities for improvements and to understand the optimal timing and location for the RVIA National Industry Trade Show moving forward.
