RVIA Gears Up for Committee Week and Annual Meeting [View]
RVIA has combined its two biggest member events of the year – Committee Week and its Annual Meeting – into one four-day event to be held in Elkhart and South Bend June 7-10, allowing many RVIA members to attend all events without incurring significant travel costs. Committee Week will be highlighted by RVIA’s fun-filled RV Centennial Celebration, taking place on Monday, June 7, at the RV/MH Hall of Fame and Museum in Elkhart.

RVIA Launches 100 Days of Centennial Tweets [View]
To help bring attention to and celebrate the RV industry’s Centennial year, RVIA has kicked off “100 Days of RV History and Lifestyle” tweets on Go RVing’s Twitter account. Each day for one the one hundred days leading up to June 7 and the all-industry Centennial celebration at the RV/MH Hall of Fame and Museum, RVIA will post a “tweet” about the RV lifestyle or the RV industry’s history on popular social networking site Twitter.

Go RVing’s three new “Ambassadors of Affordability” television commercials, launched last month to national TV audiences, have been made into spots ready for dealers, campgrounds and show promoters to tag with their own information and run on local television.

Industry Members Report on RV Centennial Celebrations [View]
As the spring retail show season shifts into high gear, RV industry members are celebrating the RV Centennial in a variety of unique ways. Multiple consumer RV shows are participating in Centennial Charlie’s Cross Country Caravan: 100 Days to Celebrate 100 Years of RVing by hosting the Official Ambassador of the 2010 RV Centennial – a 34” American black bear stuffed animal – on his road trip to honor the people who love RVing and the workers who are the heart and soul of the RV industry.

RVIA Board of Directors Meeting Set For April 1 [View]
RVIA will hold its next Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, April 1, at the Washington Court Hotel in Washington, D.C. The RVIA Board meeting happens to fall during the predicted blooming period for Washington, D.C.’s beautiful cherry blossom trees, estimated to occur between March 31 – April 11. The Board of Directors meeting was originally scheduled for February 11, but record-breaking snowstorms forced RVIA to reschedule.

2010 National RV Trade Show Space Sale Underway [View]
At the Outlook 2010 kickoff breakfast to the 47th National RV Trade Show in December, RVIA President Richard Coon issued a challenge to the RV industry, asking attendees to work to ensure that 2010 is a year of recovery for the RV industry, and that the 2010 Louisville show is bigger and better than the 2009 show.

January Wholesale RV Shipments Up 116% [View]
The results of RVIA’s January 2010 survey of manufacturers reports that 15,800 new RVs were shipped from manufacturers to dealers in January, more than twice the total of January 2009 shipments. Both towable and motorhome categories grew, with all categories at the same or substantially above their January totals last year. Importantly, this increase marked the sixth consecutive month of improvement for RV shipments as dealer orders more closely reflected retail sales during the month.

New Go RVing Ads Air During Popular Vancouver Olympic Games [View]
Go RVing’s 105-spot Winter Olympics buy, which targeted a huge family viewing audience, rolled out Saturday, February 13 on NBC’s live coverage of men’s ski jumping and continued through the Games’ conclusion on February 28. The Vancouver Winter Games were the second-most watched ever, with a total of 190 million Americans tuning in to coverage on the networks of NBC Universal, which include NBC, CNBC, USA, MSNBC and Universal Sports.

Wholesale Shipments Forecast to Grow 30% in 2010 [View]
Wholesale RV shipments are expected to total 215,900 units in 2010, according to Dr. Richard Curtin’s latest projection in the Spring 2010 issue of RV Roadsigns, RVIA’s quarterly forecast of RV deliveries to RV retailers.
