FMCSA Grants RVIA Request to Exempt CDL Requirement for Delivery of Certain RVs [View]
RVIA scored a significant regulatory achievement for the RV industry with today’s decision by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to approve the association’s application to grant an exemption from the commercial driver’s license (CDL) requirement for drivers delivering RVs of a certain size to dealerships or trade shows before retail sale.

RV Shipments Continue To Track Upward [View]
RV wholesale shipments tracked by RVIA totaled the best February since 2006 at 32,045 units, a 12.5% increase over January 2015 and a 4% rise over last February.

Go RVing’s New Video Microsite Targets Younger, Mobile Consumers [View]
Go RVing has launched a new video microsite that targets the growing number of people, especially those in younger demographics, using smartphones and tablets almost exclusively to gather information about travel and camping options. Video heavy sites that target younger demographics have been proven to reach new audiences, especially in a mobile-driven world. Since 2012, viewing videos on mobile devices increased 400% with 2015 expected to increase another 50%.

RV Shipments Hit Eight-Year High in 2014 [View]
RV wholesale shipments reached an eight-year best of 356,735 units in 2014, an 11% gain over the 321,127 units shipped the previous year, according to RVIA’s December survey of manufacturers.

Park Model RV (PMRV) wholesale shipments for 2014 were reported at 3,781 units, an increase of 5.1% (183 units) over 2013 shipments, according to RVIA.
