NHTSA Reporting Seminar

The Standards Department hosted a NHTSA Reporting Seminar on May 4, 2016 at the RV/MH Hall of Fame in Elkhart.  This event was sponsored by Thor Industries and Forest River, Inc. The purpose of this seminar was to give an overview on NHTSA and its major processes that affect the RV industry.

A newly published study shows that RV vacations cost substantially less than other forms of vacation travel, even when factoring in fuel prices and the cost of RV ownership. For a four-person travel party, the study found savings of 27-62%; a two-person travel party saved 11-48%. More...

Availability of 2014 Edition of RVIA RV Handbook – a Guide to the NFPA 1192
This bulletin serves to notify you that the 2014 edition of the RVIA RV Handbook – a Guide to the NFPA 1192 is now available for ordering. This Handbook outlines the uniform enforcement positions based on the 2015 editions of NFPA 1192, and the 2014 editions of NEC 70 and ANSI LV. It is used by the RVIA Inspection Staff during RV-OEM member inspections. The three RV code State Agencies (NE, OR, and WA) also agreed to these handbook enforcement positions. More...
