Go RVing Coalition Says Yes to New TV Ads

The Go RVing Coalition has approved the creation of new television ads to begin airing in early 2010 to keep RV travel prominently in the minds of consumers as the economy rebounds.  The unanimous motion was passed at the Coalition’s June 8 meeting during RVIA’s Committee Week in Washington, DC, giving The Richards Group of Dallas, Texas the go-ahead to begin concepting two-to-three new, low-cost spots with timely messaging about the value of RV ownership and travel. Sheldon Touts Promising Future for RV Industry

In his remarks at RVIA’s Membership Meeting June 9, RVIA Chairman of the Board Jim Sheldon (pictured at right) reviewed the turbulent year the RV industry and the association have faced, and pointed to signs that the nation’s economy may be beginning to recover, saying, “Whereas last year, we were about to unknowingly walk off an economic cliff; this year, we are beginning the resolute climb back to recovery with a far more clear picture of what we are dealing with.”

RVIA Boosts Federal Profile with Legislative Awards, Advocacy Day

At this year’s Committee Week, RVIA members participated in several activities that boosted the industry’s profile on Capitol Hill, ensured that Congress is aware of the RV industry’s needs, and recognized the work done on the industry’s behalf by members of Congress. Over three days, RVIA presented awards to one senator and two congressmen, made over 40 visits to members of Congress and their staffs, and held a fundraiser for Rep. Peter DeFazio of Oregon.

NFPA 1192, NEC and ANSI 12V Standards Now Available

The 2008 editions of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1192 Standard for Recreational Vehicles, the ANSI 12V Standard for Low Voltage Systems in Conversion and Recreational Vehicles and the National Electric Code (NEC), are now available.
