Monthly Review
July 2010

Manufacturers reported RV wholesale shipments at 19,800 units in July this year, off 26.9% from last month but up 46.7% from this same month one year ago.  It is typical of shipments to begin a slow decline from yearly peaks during late summer and early fall as model change-over affects dealer purchases.

July’s total represented an annualized total of more than 256,000 units, the third highest seasonally adjust total this year.  Towable RVs continue to provide more than 90% of all RV shipments with July’s total of 17,900 units at an annualized rate of more than 228,000 units.  July motorhomes totaled 1,900 units, representing an annualized total of 28,000 units.

Year to date, shipments have reached 155,800 units for the year, up 80.7% from July one year ago.  Towable RVs continue to reflect the greatest gains in shipment totals while motorhomes have enjoyed the greatest percentage gains over 2009.
