RV Industry Enjoys Superior Customer Satisfaction
The RV Industry
Nearly eight million American households own and enjoy RVs. That’s nearly 10 percent of the vehicle owning population, and that number’s expected to rise more than six percent by the year 2010. There are more RVs in use now than at any other time in American history.
While the average RV owner is 49 years old, ownership growth can be seen in almost every age group with substantial growth in the under 35 group as well as in almost every geographic region.
The average RV owner makes $68,000 annually and nearly 80 percent report being married. On average, RV owners use their vehicle 26 days a year.
Owner Satisfaction: By the Numbers
According to a recent University of Michigan study, two-thirds of current owners intend to buy another RV. This much repeat business speaks volumes about just how satisfied customers are with both the RV lifestyle and RVs themselves. And of that group, nearly 30 percent intend to make that purchase in the next one to three years. In fact, nearly one quarter of RV owners purchase an RV at least every five years.
And if RV owners speaking loudly and clearly with their pocket books wasn’t evidence enough of their satisfaction as customers, a 2005 Harris Interactive survey found that 90 percent of RV owners rated their overall experience with their current RVs either excellent, very good or good.
In fact, 92 percent of owners said their current RV has either met or exceeded their expectations. |
