            Industry Standards

The RVIA Standards Department administers the RVIA inspection program for construction
of recreational vehicles and park model RVs. The Standards Department’s primary goal
is to enhance safety by monitoring member adherence to the adopted construction
standards, and providing members with education and training materials.

HIGHLIGHTS Inspections

            Conducted more than

            1,900 inspections on
            324 production lines
            across 30 states and
            3 Canadian provinces.

   Standards Updates

Completed the code cycle for the 2018 editions of the NFPA 1192, ANSI LV, and 2017 NEC codes that
     specifically relate to RV Standards.

The ANSI LV standard 2018 edition introduces a revision that addresses new venting requirements for
lithium ion batteries, and the NFPA 1192 2018 edition adds a new requirement for trailer tires to have
a minimum of 10% reserve capacity, based on the axle’s rating.
