The Controller position is responsible for managing the accounting team which oversee the organization's accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure accurate and timely processing of related tasks. The position is responsible for the proper recognition of all revenue and expenses based on GAAP and the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). The Controller is the department liaison and "super-user" for managing and extracting financial data related to the organization's Association Management System (AMS) for reporting purposes. In addition, the Controller is responsible for reconciliation of monthly investment accounts and multiple entity operating accounts along with the posting of related entries. Administration management of the fixed asset module as well as the expense reporting software. The Controller also handles calculating and recording for capitalized leases and deferred revenues.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s degree with at least 10 years of equivalent work experience
  • Extensive knowledge related to GAAP and FASB with an emphasis in non-profit accounting
  • Possess Sage accounting software and Nexonia expense reporting software experience
  • Must be internal customer focused with the ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet required due dates.
