RVIA Board Of Directors Appoints Executive Committee, Approves Budget For FY2008

Reston, Va., October 2007 -- The RVIA Board of Directors re-appointed the Executive Committee for fiscal year 2008 and acted on several other issues during their meeting on September 23, 2007 at the Rio All Suites Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev.

Carl Pfalzgraf, Atwood Mobile products, was re-elected Chairman of the Board for 2008. Other officers named to the Executive Committee were Jim Sheldon, Monaco Coach Corp., as first vice chairman; Gregg Fore, Dicor Corp., as second vice chairman; Doug Gaeddert, Forest River, Inc., as treasurer, and Don Walter, Starcraft RV, as secretary. Bruce Hertzke, Winnebago Ind., also will serve as Chairman Ex Officio along with RVIA President Richard Coon. The officers’ one-year terms began on October 1.

Additionally, the Board amended the association bylaws to convert the Conversion Vehicle Manufacturer seat to an At Large seat following the move of the conversion vehicle manufacturers to the National Truck Equipment Association on October 1, 2007. Bob Parish, vice president at GE Capital Solutions, was appointed to fill the newly created At Large post. Parish is the first RVIA Board representative to come from the financial services industry. He will serve a one-year term and stand for re-election in the next association elections in August 2008.

In other actions, the RVIA Board:
  • Approved a $14.3 million association budget for fiscal year 2008 without increasing membership costs.
  • Directed that a feasibility and implementation study in regard to the Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC)/TranStand proposal to include the RV industry in their Partners Standards Protocol (PSP) be conducted with the findings reported at the next Board meeting. The PSP program creates uniform standards for electronic communications and transactions between trading partners.
  • Recommended that the Go RVing Committee on Excellence publish the Task Force reports resulting from their work to examine customer satisfaction issues within the areas of Replacement Pars Availability, Industry Wide Training, Customer Warranty, Product Quality, and Industry Communication and Support.
  • Selected the Renaissance Charleston Hotel in Charleston, S.C. to host the 2008 September Board of Directors meeting and the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel in Dana Point, Calif., to host the association’s 2009 Annual Meeting.
