RVIA Recruiting Trainers for Tech Academy 2016 at National RV Trade Show

RVIA has issued an invitation for companies to provide trainers to teach hands-on technical sessions at the expanded Tech Academy 2016 taking place at the National RV Trade Show being held Dec. 1 -3, 2015 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, KY.

The following requirements must be met for an organization to provide a session trainer:

  • The company must be a current RVIA Supplier Member in good standing
  • The company must have a display at the 2015 National RV Trade Show
  • The company must provide 4-hour, hands-on training for the sessions being held on    Wednesday, Dec. 2, and Thursday, Dec. 3
  • The company must submit a training session outline to RVIA’s Education department for promotion of classes in August

RVIA’s Tech Academy 2016 will feature 12 one-hour product overview sessions on Tuesday, Dec. 1. Each session will accommodate up to 80 participants. These are not hands-on sessions and the emphasis will be on new products.

There will be 10 hands-on sessions with a maximum of 15 participants held each day on Wednesday, Dec. 2, and Thursday, Dec. 3, for a combined 20 classes.  Each day, five sessions will run from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and five sessions will run from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. with a one-hour combined free lunch period.

RVIA is anticipating substantial demand among member supplier companies for the 32 available training session slots. All slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.  Interested companies should contact RVIA’s Tammy Holland (703-620-6003, ext. 364 or tholland@rvia.org) to register for a session or for more information.

RVIA’s Tech Academy 2016 is expected to draw 300 RV technicians and service professionals, a significant rise over the 110 that participated in the inaugural year of the technical training session offered last year.

“Last year’s sessions were a huge success and proved there is strong demand among RV dealers and technicians for quality training sessions at the National RV Trade Show,” said Sharonne Lee, RVIA’s senior director of education.  “We’ve consistently been receiving requests for information about the 2015 curriculum since the end of the show last year.  Based on that strong interest, the number of sessions will be increased from the 14 offered last year to the 32 on the schedule this year.  We are looking forward to building on the success and momentum from last year.”

The sessions will be offered free of charge to RV service technicians.  Registered attendees will receive a certificate following the completion of the class, and the training counts toward recertification. There will also be raffles and giveaways for attendees.
