Legendary Harley Comms Pro Ken Schmidt Keynotes All-New Monday Sessions at RVIA’s National RV Trade Show

Schmidt, the former director of communications strategy for Harley-Davidson Motor Company, will host the keynote session on Monday afternoon at 3:30 pm in the Kentucky Exposition Center. He played an active role in one of the most celebrated turnarounds in corporate history, and his vision helped transform Harley into one of the world’s most dominant bands. He is widely known as a provocative and engaging thought leader.

Prior to Schmidt’s session, RVIA will also present three concurrent seminars from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. tailored to RV dealers, campground operators, and RV manufacturers and suppliers.  These sessions are:

  • “How RV Manufacturers and Dealers Can Become Invincible to Lawsuits & Save Thousands in Taxes” with Larry Oxenham, Author, Senior Advisor, American Society for Asset Protection (ASAP). Attendees will receive invaluable advice on protecting yourself professionally and personally against lawsuits; minimizing taxes and reducing liability insurance costs; and, crafting successful estate and business succession plans.
  • “ARVC 101: The ADA, NFPA 1194 and Current Legislative & Regulatory Overview” with Jeff Sims, ARVC’s director of state relations & program advocacy, will focus on new policies affecting legal inquiries about service animals; developing an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance plan; using NFPA 1194 to work effectively with local authorities; and reviewing state-specific legislative and regulatory trends.
  • “Common & Avoidable Standards Deviations” presented by RVIA Standards Inspection Team. This session will examine frequently cited sited standards deviations and how to address them as well as a “Q&A” with inspection pros.

“This new lineup of Monday seminars was added based on feedback from manufacturers and dealers who wanted more educational offerings at the show,” said Liz Crawford, RVIA’s senior vice president of trade shows and events. “Offering these sessions on Monday afternoon prior to the opening of the trade show floor on Tuesday gives attendees and exhibitors the opportunity to focus on vital education and best business practices.”
