Go RVing Goes for Gold at Beijing Olympic Games

The best athletes from around the globe won’t be the only ones going for the gold at the 2008 Summer Olympics - Go RVing is also looking to seize a golden opportunity with more than 116 million ad impressions expected to result from the industry group’s second Olympic Games sponsorship.

From the first full day of competition on August 9 through the games’ conclusion on August 24, 129 Go RVing TV spots and 16 billboards will run on NBC and its sister networks - MSNBC, Oxygen! and USA. Many Go RVing ads will run during the games’ most popular events, like gymnastics.

“We expect these high-profile ads to elevate consumer awareness of the RV lifestyle just as the retail show season kicks off,” said RVIA Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Gary LaBella. “RVing is one of the most affordable family vacations out there for Americans, and our messages will resonate with the millions of Americans who plan to tune in for the Beijing games.”

Go RVing’s spots on the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy were seen by millions of viewers. The summer games are even more widely watched.

Go RVing’s 2008 television buys focused on popular sporting events with ads running in conjunction with the Daytona 500, the Super Bowl, Triple Crown thoroughbred races and NASCAR.
