Starting Your Sustainability Journey: A Roadmap

During the RV Industry Association’s Leadership Conference this month, Sustainability Committee Chair, Sandy Rynalski of THOR Industries, and Committee member, Kartik Mekala of Lippert, gave a presentation on how companies can start their sustainability journeys.

The presentation provided five specific steps companies can take:

  1. Assess your organization’s impacts.
  2. Understand where you are and set targets.
  3. Distribute responsibility, accountability, and budget.
  4. Incorporate sustainability into your company’s decision-making process.
  5. Measure and track your progress.

The presentation also provided over ten examples of actions your company can take to start or expand sustainability efforts.

The Sustainability Committee was established by the RV Industry Association last year. The Committee, which focuses on a sustainable future for the RV industry, consists of representatives from Association member companies. The Committee is the primary advisory body providing ongoing guidance and best practices on promoting sustainable RVs and a sustainable RV lifestyle.
