Go RVing Draws Strong Crowds at Iowa State Fair

It wasn’t just Presidential candidates and deep–fried food on a stick garnering attention at the Iowa State Fair this summer, RV travel and camping was also a big hit with attendees.

More than 5,000 people toured the Go RVing/Family Funmagazine RV exhibit that was on display on Aug. 15 – 16 at the Iowa State Fair, which ran from Aug. 13 – 23 in Des Moines.  A Winnebago Brave type A motorhome and Winnebago Travato type B motorhome were open for tours and drew strong consumer interest.

In addition to the RVs, there was also a photo booth where attendees could take candid shots against popular travel destination backdrops and share them on social media; a giant jigsaw puzzle depicting an idyllic RV getaway; and, prizes and giveaways, including Family Funmagazine subscriptions, travel awards, and a chance to win cameras and camping kits.

“Drawing more than 5,000 people to the Go RVing exhibit over just two days was a huge success. This was one of our best on-site consumer activations with a lot of people in our target market getting a taste of RV travel and camping.” said Go RVing’s Karen Redfern. “Our experiential marketing efforts continue to boost the awareness of RVing and are a very effective complement to our traditional and digital marketing efforts.”
