Forecast 2009 Set For June 10

RVIA will officially unveil its industry outlook at “Forecast 2009,” taking place during Committee Week on Tuesday, June 10, from 12 noon – 2 p.m. Dr. Richard Curtin will headline the event, providing his projections for the RV market in the coming year.

Curtin, director of the Consumer Research Center at the University of Michigan, has directed RVIA’s RV Consumer Demographic Profile research since 1980 and authors the association’s quarterly RV Roadsigns newsletter.

“Dr. Curtin has a unique understanding of the RV market, and we are fortunate to have him on hand sharing his insights as part of the ‘Forecast 2009’ program,” said RVIA President Richard Coon. “His presentation will provide an expert view on what the future holds for the industry.”

Coon will speak at the event as well, detailing his perspective on the state of the RV market as well as the association. There will also be a Q&A session following the presentations by Dr. Curtin and Coon.

Joint Committee Luncheon

In addition to the “Forecast 2009” program, another popular event at Committee Week is the Joint Committee Luncheon, set for Monday, June 9, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. American Recreation Coalition President Derrick Crandall will speak at the event this year, providing a report on his group's programs as well as a look at the national political environment and the outlook for outdoor recreation issues. RVIA will also honor several industry leaders with association awards during the luncheon.

Willard Hosts Committee Week

RVIA’s Committee Week will be held at the Willard InterContinental Hotel in Washington, D.C. from June 9-12. During the four-day event, the association’s standing committees, Executive Committee and Board of Directors will meet to set the association’s agenda for the upcoming fiscal year.

The Go RVing Coalition and Committee on Excellence are also scheduled to meet in conjunction with Committee Week on Monday, June 9.

Located just two blocks from the White House, the Willard InterContinental has been a favorite of presidents and world leaders since 1850. It is an icon of stunning architecture and understated elegance.
