RV Industry Association Applauds Make America Beautiful Again Commission

Mar 3, 2026

The RV Industry Association celebrates the recent establishment of the Make America Beautiful Again (MABA) commission. This initiative, also known as MABA 250, will conserve America’s natural beauty and expand outdoor recreation opportunities. The commission, which is chaired by U.S. Department of the Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, builds on 250 years of environmental progress and will serve as a governing framework for conservation policies over the next 250 years.

The MABA commission will balance stewardship and economic growth, emphasize responsible conservation, restore America’s wildlife, lands, and waters, and safeguard the United States’ outdoor spaces. A report of its accomplishments will formally be rolled out in conjunction with the opening of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library, commemorating America 250.

The Outdoor Recreation Roundtable (ORR), which also applauds the initiative, has outlined how the commission will enhance the United States’ $1.2 trillion outdoor recreation economy. Additionally, the sector supports more than 5 million jobs, strengthens rural and gateway communities, and improves the physical and mental health and well-being of people in every state. Ultimately, outdoor recreation represents an important opportunity to continue uniting conservation, economic growth, and public health.

In advance of the Make America Beautiful Again Commission meeting, ORR submitted detailed recommendations to the commission focused on building a sustainable outdoor recreation economy. These recommendations include:

  • Reauthorizing and strengthening the Legacy Restoration Fund to modernize recreation infrastructure and accelerate high-value projects nationwide
  • Fully implementing the bipartisan EXPLORE Act to expand access, innovation, and public-private partnerships
  • Recognizing outdoor recreation as essential infrastructure for public health and community wellbeing
  • Preserving access to public lands and waters in perpetuity as a high-return national investment
  • Reducing regulatory headwinds and increasing certainty for outdoor recreation businesses
  • Strengthening federal-state coordination, including State Offices of Outdoor Recreation
  • Modernizing campgrounds, marinas, and boating infrastructure as gateways to rural vitality

“The RV Industry Association celebrates the Make America Beautiful Again commission and its commitment to the nation’s natural treasures and outdoor recreation economy,” says Federal Affairs Manager Jack Holt. “We are pleased the commission will place significant focus on responsible conservation and stewardship of public lands. Additionally, with the United States’ 250th anniversary approaching, there is no better time to bring people together to celebrate the country’s diverse landscapes and the freedom of the open road.”
