CARB Reopens Fill Pipe Comment Period

May 2, 2019

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) approved proposed amendments on fuel fill pipe requirements that will directly impact motorhome and chassis manufacturers. These amendments introduce a new performance leak standard and additional dimensional specifications for new fill pipe designs. CARB is currently attempting to determine if the additional conforming modifications to the regulation are appropriate.

After holding a 15-day comment period last month, CARB has issued a second 15-day notice which requests comments on proposed modifications to the fill pipe specification amendments that were considered by the Board last fall. In the second 15-day notice, staff is proposing modifications to limited portions of the original proposal which can be viewed here (member-only). Comments on the latest 15-day notice are due May 9.
