As we approach this Independence Day, our nation prepares for a historic milestone: celebrating America’s 250th birthday. This Semiquincentennial 4th of July is a powerful reminder of the enduring ideals that define our country. Chief among them are freedom and independence—values that are not just part of our national heritage, but are foundational to the very spirit of the RV industry.

This holiday, more than 5.5 million Americans will hit the road in an RV to celebrate our nation’s history with family and friends. RVing is a quintessentially American pastime. It represents the ultimate expression of personal autonomy, giving travelers the unmatched freedom to chart their own course and complete control over their environment, schedule, and destination. Whether parked by a majestic national park or gathered at a local campground, RVers embody the restless, adventurous spirit that has shaped our country for two and a half centuries. For generations, Americans have embraced that spirit of discovery by setting out to see this great country for themselves, and RVing remains one of the most meaningful ways to experience that tradition today.

The incredible mobilization of millions of outdoor enthusiasts this weekend is a testament to the vital importance of our $159 billion sector. As an industry, we do not just manufacture vehicles; we build the gateway to the great American road trip and facilitate the lifelong memories made around the campfire. The resilience, innovation, and dedication of manufacturers, suppliers, dealers, and campgrounds ensure that families across America can continue to experience the freedom, adventure, and connection that RV travel makes possible.
