Recapping the 2026 Safety & Compliance Seminar

The RV Industry Association’s Regulatory & Safety Compliance Seminar, which occurred on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, in Elkhart, IN, was another valuable educational opportunity for the industry. Over 60 members were in attendance from over 16 different manufacturers and nine different supplier companies. 

A keynote presentation was given by Will Godfrey, Director of Mobility, Automation, and Safety at Thompson Hine LLP, covering several topics, including his view of NHTSA’s perspective when reviewing safety issues. As a former NHTSA employee, Will provided key insights into how NHTSA reviews safety issues and offered practical guidance on streamlining compliance procedures and strengthening industry communication.

Additionally, there were panels composed of industry compliance veterans, whom the audience engaged with during the Q&A portions. The panelists covered identifying safety issues, sustaining safety cultures, collaborating with dealers on recall management, using AI responsibly in regulatory and safety compliance, and more.
