Summary

RV wholesale shipments finished 2017 with 504,599 units up 17.2% compared to the 430,691 units shipped in 2016.

RVIA’s December survey of manufacturers found RV wholesale shipments finished at 36,227, an increase of 9.9% from the 32,970 units shipped last December.  December 2017 shipment total is the best December on comparable record.

All towable RVs, led by conventional travel trailers, totaled 31,541 units for the month, an increase of 9.5% compared to last December’s towable RV shipment total of 28,795.  2017 totals for towable RVs are up 17.6% to 441,961 units.

December motorhome shipments are up 12.2% to 4,686 units over last year.  2017 motorhome shipments finished at 62,638 units on 14.4% growth over the 54.741 units shipped during 2016.
