United States Trade Representative Seeks Public Comments Ahead of 2027 Joint Review of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement
On October 5, 2026, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) published a Federal Register notice seeking public comments and requests to testify at a hearing regarding the 2027 annual Joint Review of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). The deadline to submit comments is January 12, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. EST.
This announcement follows the United States’ July 1, 2026, decision not to extend the USMCA for an additional 16 years through 2042. As a result, annual Joint Reviews will take place beginning in 2026 and continue until the United States, Canada, and Mexico agree to extend the agreement for another 16 years or the USMCA expires in 2036.
Impact on the RV Industry:
The RV industry is concerned that replacing the USMCA with separate U.S.-Canada and U.S.-Mexico agreements could create different trade rules for manufacturers and suppliers. Because the industry relies on an integrated North American supply chain, we support maintaining a trilateral agreement and are working with our partners to advocate for a consistent set of trade rules across all three countries.
