Inspector I

If so, the RV Industry Association invites you to apply for the position of Inspector I, supporting member manufacturers in maintaining the highest levels of safety and regulatory compliance.
About the Role:
The Inspector I position serves RV manufacturer members with on-site inspections to ensure that RVs manufactured in their facilities comply with the adopted standards and program requirements as established by the RV Industry Association’s Board of Directors. Beyond enforcement, the Inspector acts as a technical resource and educator, helping members navigate regulatory landscapes to ensure the highest levels of safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting unannounced on-site inspections at RV manufacturing facilities to verify adherence to industry standards.
- Lead initial inspections with potential manufacturing members, providing comprehensive education on mandated compliance responsibilities.
- Foster positive, professional relationships between members and the Association by serving as a subject matter expert and standards educator.
- Provide technical input for code change proposals and handbook updates regarding NFPA 1192, ANSI DC, NEC, ANSI A119.5.
- Perform special projects as requested by the Chief Inspector (e.g.: technical research, photography, technical writing, training documents, etc.).
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma required with an associate or bachelor’s degree preferable. Certified RV technician is a plus.
- Experience:
- Mechanical skills with RVs and/or automotive production or repair.
- Hands-on experience trouble shooting appliances or other systems such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC and propane.
- Must be self-motivated, organized, have a high level of communications skills.
- Can work and travel independently.
- Strong skills and proficiency in digital inspection software, Microsoft Office Suite, and technical writing.
Additional Information
- This position involves travel throughout the United States and Canada. A valid Driver’s License is required. A passport would need to be acquired. This job will have 50% travel outside the local area.
