Help Keep RVing Affordable For American Families

Jun 24, 2026

On July 4, 2025, President Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act into law. The legislation included a new “No Tax on Car Loan Interest” provision, allowing taxpayers to deduct up to $10,000 per year in interest paid on loans for newly purchased, U.S.-manufactured vehicles.

While some RVs appear to fall under the definition of an “applicable passenger vehicle” for purposes of this deduction, travel trailers and larger RVs were ultimately excluded from the final legislation, even though they were included in the House-passed version. This omission has created confusion for both dealers and consumers and prevents RV buyers of American-made products from accessing this tax benefit.

The bipartisan No Tax on RV Loans Act, H.R. 8672, led by Representatives Yakym and Titus, and S. 4653, led by Senator Young, would correct this by explicitly including all RVs within the "No Tax on Vehicle Loans" provision of the law. Together, these bills would clarify the definition to ensure all RVs are eligible, allowing consumers to fully benefit from the deduction and making RV ownership more affordable.

In particular, the No Tax on RV Loans Act would:

  • Strengthen American manufacturing and protect 643,000 jobs in an industry where nearly 90% of RVs sold worldwide are built in the United States by American workers.
  • Provide targeted tax relief to working- and middle-class families, whether they itemize or take the standard deduction, with income phase-outs ensuring the benefit is focused on middle-income taxpayers.
  • Improve affordability for family travel by reducing the cost of RV ownership for the households that make up the majority of RV buyers.
  • Ensure fair treatment of RVs by aligning interest deductibility with other motor vehicles, recognizing that RVs are titled and financed as vehicles in all 50 states.

Contact your Member of Congress and urge them to support the No Tax on RV Loans Act to ensure RVing remains accessible and affordable for American families.
