Unlocking Career Growth: An RVTI Participant’s Level 2 Testimony

The RV Technical Institute’s Level 2 course provides a deep understanding and the hands-on skills necessary to successfully troubleshoot, diagnose and repair problems— no matter how unique— in all of an RV's components, including propane, electrical, water, appliances, body, generator, and chassis.

1. What initially drew you to RVTI's program?
What drew me to RVTI was the flexibility of being able to work through the program at my own pace. At the time, I had a family member who was sick, which meant I couldn't travel far from home. RVTI's self-paced format meant I could fit my training around those responsibilities instead of having to choose between them. It made the difference between being able to pursue this career change at all or having to put it off indefinitely.

2. During the course, what aspect(s) of RVTI's training experience were the most beneficial to you and why?
The labs and video content were by far the most beneficial parts of the training for me. I'm a visual learner, so being able to actually watch a system being worked on — seeing the components, the tools, and the troubleshooting process in action — made everything click in a way that reading alone never could. The hands-on labs reinforced that even further, letting me apply what I'd just seen rather than just absorbing information passively. That combination of watching and doing was exactly how I needed to learn this material.

3. Since completing the course, how has your RVTI training helped your career as an RV technician?
The timing couldn't have worked out better. I earned my Level 2 certification, which gave me the credibility to go straight into shadowing a local certified mobile RV technician near me. That experience has been invaluable as I work toward launching my own mobile RV repair business. RVTI didn't just teach me the technical skills — it gave me a credential that opened the door to the real-world mentorship I needed to move forward with confidence.
