Meet the people charting our course.

Craig Kirby - President & CEO

Craig Kirby, a 30-year veteran of the RV Industry Association, has long served as a senior leader in the organization. Most recently, he was senior vice president of government relations and general counsel, overseeing key divisions including federal and state relations, legal, industry standards, and international business. Before joining the Association in 1994, he practiced law privately. In his free time, Craig enjoys golf and outdoor activities with his family.

James Ashurst - Executive Vice President

Ashurst is Executive Vice President at the RV Industry Association, overseeing membership, research, finance, IT, events, communications, and marketing—including the industry’s Go RVing campaign. Before joining the Association, he was VP of communications at Travel Channel, serving as lead media contact and managing strategy, relations, and campaigns. Earlier, he held communications roles in the broadcast satellite and travel industries.

Curtis Hemmeler - Executive Director, RV Technical Institute and SVP, Standards

Hemmeler currently oversees operations for the RV Technical Institute and the Standards program. Holding 30 years in technical education, he previously served as VP of operations and strategy at WyoTech, leading 300 staff across three campuses. His dual leadership allows for tighter integration between education and standards, ensuring consistency across RV manufacturers, dealers, and technicians. He brings experience in sales, marketing, fundraising, and partnerships. Hemmeler has 12 years of Service in the US Air force and Ohio National Guard.

Karen Redfern - Senior VP and Chief Marketing Officer, Go RVing

As Chief Marketing Officer, Karen Redfern leads the team behind the RV industry’s Go RVing campaign, overseeing strategy, media, advertising, PR, partnerships, and consumer research. Before joining the RV Industry Association, she was an executive with a national real estate franchise, managing advertising and PR programs. With 30+ years in marketing, Karen also volunteers with organizations supporting women and enjoys DIY projects, kayaking, and hiking.

Wayne Atkins - VP, Finance

Since 2019, Wayne has directed the RV Industry Association’s Finance team, overseeing the financial operations of the Association, Go RVing, and the RV Technical Institute. With 30 years of accounting experience, he has strengthened transparency, trust, and collaboration across the organization. Wayne values the unity of the RV industry and is proud to support its continued growth alongside a dedicated team driving positive change.

Bill Baker - VP, Membership and Research

Bill has been an integral part of the RV Industry Association for more than 25 years where he has led marketing, communications, and public relations efforts as well as served on the government affairs teams. Most recently, Baker took over the membership and research departments, centralizing all research and data and elevating the quality and quantity of industry data available to members.

Jeremy Greene - VP, Marketing

Jeremy brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in the association world. He joined the RV Industry Association in 2016 and was appointed Vice President of Marketing in 2024. In this role, Jeremy oversees the strategy and growth of the Association’s three flagship brands: the RV Industry Association, the RV Technical Institute, and Go RVing. A proud Clemson University graduate, he is equally passionate about family life with his three children and still makes time to lace up for Sunday league soccer.

Sharonne Lee VP, Education & Operations, RV Technical Institute

Sharonne brings 35+ years of RV industry experience to the RV Technical Institute, with expertise in standards inspections, education, dealer and technician outreach, and curriculum development. In her leadership role with RVTI, Sharonne is dedicated to enhancing the RV customer experience and advancing professionalism among RV technicians nationwide.

Jason Rano - VP, Government Affairs

As VP of Government Affairs, Rano leads efforts to protect and promote the RV industry by shaping federal, state, and regulatory policy. He joined the Association in 2023 after spearheading deployment of EV chargers on public lands at Rivian and serving as Federal Executive Director at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. Earlier, he was VP of Government Relations at the National Park Foundation. Rano has spent more than 20 years in government and government affairs working at the federal, state, and local levels.

Bob Schmitt - VP & General Counsel

Bob has served as in-house counsel for the RV Industry Association since 1998 and became VP and General Counsel in 2019. Before that, he spent 10 years in private practice specializing in business litigation, insurance disputes, and environmental remediation. A Georgetown cum laude and UVA Law graduate, Bob previously worked on the White House and Senate staffs. Outside work, he enjoys travel, Florida getaways, and cheering for the Boston Red Sox.

Bryan Ritchie - VP, Standards

Bryan leads the Association’s standards and inspection team, promoting RV safety through standards compliance and providing training for manufacturers. He joined as Senior Director of Standards in 2021 after a 15-year career at Cummins Inc., where he advanced from application engineer to director of sales, supporting marine, RV, and consumer markets. A Purdue graduate in electrical engineering technology, Bryan enjoys family time, kids’ sports, camping, fishing, beach days, golf and disc golf.

Alice Wang - VP, Human Resources

Alice joined the RV Industry Association in 2001 and now leads the Human Resources and Facilities team, overseeing talent management, compensation and benefits, and compliance and risk management. She has been instrumental in fostering the Association’s supportive culture and ensuring a safe, engaging, and productive work environment. A lifelong camper and outdoor enthusiast, Alice is passionate about supporting the team that champions the RV industry and the industry that helps families create lasting memories in the great outdoors.
