With an eye for excellence and a background in sales, Demco’s RV Product Sales Manager, Doug Northcutt, is on a mission to share innovative products with consumers and dealers alike.

Doug’s career has always centered around outdoor recreation. “During my twenties, I started working in the outdoor industry, in a marine dealership,” he says.

Then, in late 2001, after five years in the marine sector, he was hired by Stag Parkway, now known as NTP-STAG, a leading distributor of aftermarket RV parts and accessories in North America.

“They were one of the largest aftermarket distributors in the RV aftermarket at that point,” says Doug. “I started with Stag Parkway in January 2002 and worked for them until late 2008, when I was hired by Demco.”

Originally from Crockett, TX, Doug graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science. His professional dedication to the outdoors is mirrored in his personal life, most notably on the golf course. “I play it for fun and also for business purposes, like networking at conferences,” he explains.

Although Doug has remained with Demco for nearly 18 years, his role has evolved over time: “Our sales manager in our trailer components division left Demco, and Demco asked if I would take the sales management responsibilities for both RVs and trailers in 2018. So, until midsummer last year, that was the role I managed,” he says. “Since then, we've grown so much in both our RV and trailer divisions that we’ve added another sales manager to oversee trailer components day-to-day. I manage our RV sales team, which is nice.”

As Demco’s RV Product Sales Manager, Doug oversees Demco’s four outside sales team members, who are dedicated to the RV sector. “They each cover an equal part of the country,” he says of his team. “They're on the road a couple of weeks a month, and they're in their home office a couple of weeks a month, working with customers. We also have a manufacturer representative group in Canada that handles products from our company.”

For Doug, each day looks a little different: “Day to day, I am working with our distributor partners in the RV space, like NTP-Stag, Land ‘N’ Sea Distributing, Meyer Distributing, and  Foland Sales,” he says. “I also work with our sales group, whether it's our internal team, product coordinators, and then, usually once or twice a month, I'm on the road somewhere in the United States or Canada, riding with one of our sales team members, visiting customers, visiting dealers. I really make it an initiative to try to get out in the field and ride with our sales team and support them.”

While Doug’s daily tasks are ever-changing, two constants anchor his work: nurturing authentic relationships and turning feedback into actionable innovation: “I hear directly from RV customers, the dealers— those folks on the ground that are selling our product. I receive feedback from them, which is valuable to us when creating new products and improving our current lines. The best part is the people— getting to know the sales team and the dealers.”

Demco has been looking forward to the release of several new products, including one that was recently released. “We've come out with an exciting new product this year called the Recon Stealth,” says Doug. “It’s a fifth-wheel hitch that folds and stores, which makes it nice for the consumer. It was an exciting product to show at the distributor shows, back in December and January.”

There are other new products on the horizon, too, scheduled for release in the next 12 to 18 months. “We’re really excited,” says Doug. “I’ve been in the RV aftermarket towing segment now for a long time, and it's always changing. The consumers are always looking for something new, something better, something different. So, our goal is to make our products more consumer-friendly and more dealer-friendly. We want to make it easier for both the dealers and the consumers to use them, and that environment is exciting and kind of ever-changing.

Doug’s dedication to his clients and colleagues is a prime example of Demco’s supportive, family-oriented spirit. “We have been a family-owned company since 1964. The fourth generation is now entering the company and will eventually move into the leadership. The third generation still leads the company. I've been here almost 18 years, and the family that owns the company is great,” he says. “They're faith-based, and they care about their employees. I love working for them. It’s exciting to watch a company that is motivated by its local community, and the family continues to evolve with the company.”

In addition to his responsibilities as Demco’s RV Product Sales Manager, Doug has also been involved in the RV Industry Association. He has attended the RV Aftermarket Conference for two decades, including the past seven years since it transitioned into its present form under the RV Industry Association.

“Before that, when I first started working for Demco, the association that supported the aftermarket was called the RV Aftermarket Association, which was a separate entity from the RV Industry Association,” Doug explains. “And then, in 2018—when Demco got bigger, and I took on another division—that was about the time that the RV Industry Association took on the management of the RV Aftermarket Association, which I think has been great.”

“Over the last several years, I’ve gotten to know more of the RV Industry Association team that runs the conferences,” he adds. “And some of the RV Industry Association folks visited Demco in the last year and saw our operation, and that was great.”

Additionally, Doug recently attended the RV Industry Association’s 2026 Leadership Conference for the first time. “I was blown away by the attendance and the speaker line-up,” he says. “I was impressed by the overall event, how well it was run, and the opportunity to learn from the speakers. Also, the amount of time that was allowed for networking was invaluable.”

“Going forward, my goal is to become more involved with the RV Industry Association, now that I have the opportunity,” he says. “I know many of the members on the Aftermarket Committee, and I stay in touch with some of them. I'd like to go to the Leadership Conference again and become more involved in Advocacy Day during RVs Move America Week. I'm looking forward to becoming more involved with the RV Industry Association’s events and continuing to serve the industry!”
