12 Reasons Why RVing Is Ideal For People Of All Ages

May 29, 2020

If you want to get out and see the world (or at least the continental US), RVing should top your list. Of course, plenty of younger folks assume that recreational vehicles are for boomers on up, and that no self-respecting millennial would be caught dead in a tin can on wheels. And considering the potential dangers of flying (crazy disasters are uncommon, but they still happen), ground travel might be preferable.

The truth is that RVing can be enjoyable, affordable, and fun, even for people under 50. You don't have to be retired to start traveling, and you also don't have to compromise on creature comforts while on the road (just consider the existence of glampsites in exotic locations if you don't believe us).

12. RVing Can Be More Affordable Than Hotel Stays

It's true that hotels can have plenty of amenities and built-in perks. But not every hotel will measure up to each traveler's standards. Plus, hotel stays can quickly get expensive. And while buying an RV might not be the cheapest investment if you choose a huge motorhome or high-end fifth wheel, it can be reasonably cheap if you play your cards right. Spend a few thousand dollars on a cheap camper, and you can stay at RV parks around the country starting at less than 20 bucks per night.

11. It's More Eco-Conscious Than Taking A Cruise

Cruise ship pollution is responsible for plenty of environmental and health-related problems, notes Forbes. This means that every retiree's dream of embarking on a Caribbean cruise probably isn't the best plan. And younger folks who like the idea of traveling aren't exactly keen on discharging so much pollution per trip. So, the good news is that your United States road trip itinerary along Route 66 is less harmful to the environment than a cruise.
