Originally conceived and nurtured by the Emerging Leaders Coalition (ELC), the project has officially "graduated" from its incubator stage. Reflecting the Coalition’s mission to cultivate the next generation of leadership, the initiative has now transitioned into a permanent fixture within the RV Industry Association’s committee structure under the Sustainability Committee.
The annual volunteer project initiative was launched in 2022 at Potato Creek State Park, followed in 2023 at Ox Bow County Park and again in 2024 at Chain O’Lakes State Park. The most recent project took place in 2025 at Bonneyville Mill County Park. A lasting impact has been made at these locations with the construction of park facilities, repair of infrastructure, removal of invasive species, and enhancement of public spaces.
In recognition of its accomplishments, the RV Industry Association's Emerging Leaders Coalition was honored with the 2024 National Association of State Park Directors President’s Award. This prestigious award applauded the outstanding volunteer initiatives supporting Indiana State Parks.
The 2022 project at Potato Creek State Park was also recognized with a Partnership Award awarded by Indiana State Parks in 2023. The award recognizes cooperative efforts between a property and a community organization that support projects and facilities to serve property guests.
