New RV Women’s Alliance Formed By Members Of The RV Industry

Dec 19, 2018

Members of the RV industry have gotten together to create a new alliance of women, as well as men, who will work towards a grass-roots, but formal organization dedicated to mentoring women in the RV industry. The newly formed “RV Women’s Alliance” will launch formally at RVX: The RV Experience, in Salt Lake City, March 13, 2019.

The vision, according to organizers, is to elevate the roles and contributions women are making in the RV industry by promoting diversity and providing programs, resources and a collaborative environment for women who are pursuing long term careers in the industry.

A small group of women met during the RVDA Convention in November to talk about the launch of the program, and how to build a sustainable program for the future. The women represented a cross section of dealers, suppliers, media and association staff who were brought together for a common cause.

The Alliance ‘founders’ include:

  • Chair: Susan Carpenter, CPG
  • Chair Elect: Jordyn Foos, RV PRO
  • Secretary/Treasurer: Chris Fanning, RV Industry Association
  • Marketing: Monika Geraci, RV Industry Association
  • Judy Schutz, Dometic
  • Liz Crawford, RV Industry Association
  • Jennifer Brauns, RV News
  • Sherry Shields, Pan Pacific RV
  • Debbie Brunoforte, Little Dealer, Little Prices
  • Heather Leach, PRVCA
  • Kim Gregory, Coach Net
  • Karen Redfern, RV Industry Association
  • Sharonne Lee, RV Industry Association
  • Ally Kollat, RV Business

“We’re really excited to be forming this group,” said Susan Carpenter. “With more and more women entering the industry, it’s a great time to encourage women to explore the variety of career opportunities available, help with mentorship, networking and more.”

“This is not meant to be an exclusive women’s club,” said Liz Crawford, SVP at RV Industry Association.  “There are so many organizations out there that act in a similar capacity.  We want to provide folks with an opportunity to learn from others, seek ways to share best practices, and encourage women from all walks of life to enter this exciting market.”

Membership is open to both men and women who are interested in raising the profile of women, providing mentorship and opportunities to women in the industry. To join, click here.
