RV Technical Institute Highlights Tech Career Path At Texas School Counselor Conference
Earlier this week, the RV Technical Institute attended the Lone Star State School Counselor Association Conference in Frisco, TX. The event, which took place from Sunday, November 2, through Tuesday, November 4, offered RVTI another opportunity to share information about the RV technician career with school counselors and administrators.
The RV Technical Institute's ultimate goal in attending school counselor conferences is to recruit students interested in the RV technician career.
School counselors who receive information from RVTI staff on the technician career path can then use their knowledge to advise high school students who are interested in the skilled trades. Additionally, participating in these conferences introduces more opportunities for RVTI to continue incorporating its program into schools’ curricula. Students whose schools adopt RVTI’s program could earn their Level 1 certification before graduating, giving them a promising start in the skilled trades.
Throughout the year, RVTI has also attended similar school counselor conferences, such as those in Dillon, CO, Long Beach, CA, and others. Likewise, RVTI’s attendance at this week’s school conference in Frisco, TX, took place shortly after RVTI launched its first community college partnership with Navarro College in Corsicana, TX, as well as its inaugural high school RV technician certification program with the EPIC Campus in Littleton, CO. RVTI’s ongoing participation in school conferences and its current partnerships with academic institutions highlight the program’s dedication to increasing the number of trained RV service technicians.
Representatives from Navarro College joined the RV Technical Institute at the Lone Star State School Counselor Association Conference and assisted with the booth.
“We enjoyed this latest opportunity to network with school counselors and share information on the RV technician career. We also enjoyed having Navarro College staff at the conference with us, and we thank them for their support,” says Halle Howard, the RV Technical Institute’s Account Specialist. “Counselors and high school students alike may not be familiar with the RV tech career, so we recognize the importance of attending these events to keep spreading the word and building our partnerships within the education community. We are excited to see the successes with Navarro College and EPIC, and we’re looking forward to seeing our program become adopted by more schools. These conferences are a great way to start that conversation and give us a platform to continue building the next generation of RV technicians.
