DSA Clarification - Batteries
Martin Perlot of SilverLeaf Electronics proposes the following:
Change DSA 70 from "Battery State of Charge #2" to "Battery".
Justification:
At the time this DSA was assigned, there was no such thing as a "smart" battery like the modern Li-ion cells. Standalone state-of-charge devices were fairly common, and provision for two such meters was made. This was unnecessary - the single DSA is sufficient for state-of-charge devices - and to my knowledge no device has ever implemented the second DSA. Meanwhile, it seems appropriate to give the smart battery its own DSA.
