Lead Group : Device Synchronization

From the Lead Group,

A new DGN, DEVICE_STATE_SYNCHRONIZATION.

The DGN addresses the need for devices that have state information spread across multiple devices and need to synchronize their operation. Applications might include a leveling system, in which valves, motors, and sensors may be spread across multiple controllers; video routers; and stacking inverters. The DGN is a significantly safer alternative to proprietary messaging and offers better performance. However, it is intended for use only when synchronization is actively required, and is not intended for configuration, validation, or other proprietary purposes or to replace any standard command or status message.
