6 Cool New Features On GoRVing.com

Oct 21, 2020

The all-new GoRVing.com website is the latest update in a year marked with changes for the Go RVing team. On the heels of a brand-new partnership with a new creative agency and a new campaign launch, GoRVing.com underwent a complete overhaul.

The new site provides a visually engaging platform to showcase its rich and inspirational stories, told by real RVers in their own words. Consumers can explore the range and diversity of RV models and uses and access the stories and expert advice that demonstrate how RVing can enhance the activities about which consumers are already passionate. The new platform also makes it easier for RVers to find resources from real RVers to help them get started. This includes choosing your RV, how to get started, trip planning, expert advice, RV how-tos, recipes, and more!

The site was designed with an emphasis on the path to purchase mindset consumers experience from discovery, consideration and action and the navigation mirrors this mindset and behavior flow. There are also several touch points to pull consumers further down into the funnel and push them to dealerships. In addition to this, the team also reexamined the purpose and value of its industry-only section of the website to provide more value to industry stakeholders.

Check out these six new features on the new website:

1. CONTENT JOURNEYS

In addition to more engaging content, the visual design of the site is laid out to mirror aspects of the travel and camping experiences. An interactive compass on the homepage moves with navigation and stories are told and laid out to look like journey points on a map. RV activity and benefits are categorized more clearly on the new site, pushing users to the type of information that they are most interested in seeing. And all of the video stories and blog articles have been tagged to align with targeted interest categories such as the first-timers tool kit, winter sports, affordability, the great outdoors, trip planning, expert advice, how-to’s and more.

2. FIND MY RV QUIZ

Who doesn’t love a good quiz? One feature designed to be very interactive is the find my RV quiz to help people get a sense of the type of RV that meets their needs. The quiz asks for the user to select the kinds of amenities they would want to have, if they are towing or driving, how many people they are traveling with, and the level of comfort desired.

3. COMPARE RVs

When new to RVing, it can be difficult navigate the differences between RV types and daunting to figure out which RV best aligns with your needs. The compare RVs tool allows consumers to compare different types of RVs side by side to find what might be the best fit for their lifestyle. The comparison tool includes information about occupancy capacity, levels of comfort, ease of driving and parking, storage options, and the average costs of the particular RV type. The new site has multiple pathways to drive to this tool throughout various touchpoints on the site.

4. TESTIMONIALS

In the vein of authenticity, the website has increased the number of testimonials across the site from RVers in their own words about the benefits and joy that RVing has brough into their life. Go RVing always strives to be authentic and give RVers the platform to amplify their own experiences. The messaging is so much more powerful when it comes directly from the people that Go RVing works with on a regular basis. The team pulled testimonials from families, pet lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, professional athletes, and adventurers. The new testimonials provide perspectives from our influencers that align specifically with the topic of interest for the consumer - and these testimonials are tailored to appear on specific pages.

5. LOOK INSIDE

The Go RVing team was surprised a few years ago to learn that many people had no idea what an RV looked like on the inside. Some people hadn’t been inside of one since they were a child, others had simply never seen the inside of an RV. This knowledge was one of the driving forces behind the launch of experiential events. But now, visitors can take a “look inside” from the website!

Go RVing has created generic RV models that are intended to be representative an overall type of RV that can educate consumers on the differences and allow them to see what the interior and lay out could look like. RV Industry Association members provided hundreds of exterior and interior RV shots that allowed the team to develop accurate external renderings of RV models and provide a peak behind the curtain of RV interiors. Additionally, the site displays how the categories are evolving and that manufacturers continue adding features and pushing the limits on what is possible.

This feature allows us to delight and surprise consumers when they are exploring and to present possibilities that they never knew existed. This interactive look inside appears on several pages throughout the site including the homepage, main landing pages, RV detail pages, and stories from real RVers.

6. RV AND PRODUCT SEARCH

Once new RVers have settled on the type of unit that they want to buy, they may not know where to begin when it comes to searching for the manufacturers of a particular type. Consumers can now search by a particular type of RV, such as travel trailer, and be served a list of all the manufacturers who make that RV from the RV Industry Association’s member database. The team knows that RVers do a lot of research before purchase and wanted to provide as many resources to bring them into the RV world as possible. Consumers can also search for supplier and aftermarket products to make post purchase upgrades and enhancements.

Not only has the experience for consumers been improved dramatically, the new and improved industry portal is a significant upgrade. Stay tuned to hear more about the more intuitive and streamlined portal.
