Finding innovative solutions to address the need for more certified RV technicians is the cornerstone of the RV Technical Institute’s (RVTI) mission. Recently, RVTI partnered with Bisk Education to provide an online, immersive level one training for the only industry-wide technician certification this fall. Other industries and organizations across the country are implementing new ways to train the next generation of skilled labor as well. Below is a story on Alabama Power and how they are looking to develop skilled labor in their industry.
Alabama Power has joined many in the state in a partnership with JumpStartAL, who aims to partner with public and private entities throughout Alabama to create a next generation of skilled labor utilizing innovative solutions.
“The organizations and companies that make up JumpStartAL have a shared vision of ensuring Alabama and its citizens are well positioned for a prosperous and inclusive future in the 21st century economy,” said Leigh Davis, vice president of economic and community development for Alabama Power. “We are honored to join with them to help make this vision a reality.”
JumpStartAL announced the launch of their innovative workforce development initiative using virtual reality training solutions to offer new education and training programs for the state's next generation of skilled workers.
“Our colleges are committed to meeting students where they are and helping them achieve a better future. Hands-on virtual reality training is a means of achieving that goal,” said Chancellor Jimmy H. Baker of the Alabama Community College System.
