She Came, She Saw, She Makes RV Experientials Possible

RV experiential events. Do you know about them?

The Go RVing team coordinates numerous experiential displays each year at various events around the country with the goal of reaching new audiences and exposing them to the RV lifestyle.

So, the question is, what goes in to making these events possible?

Meet Go RVing’s Marketing Program Analyst Dana DelVecchio. Dana has been with the RV Industry for more than 20 years and has dedicated her focus towards coordinating Go RVing’s experiential events for the past three years. We wanted to learn more about what’s involved in planning these events and Dana was more than happy to give us the low-down.

“A bunch of things are taken into consideration, but the most important thing we consider is the demographics of each event’s audience, the region where the event is hosted and what kind of event it is,” she shared. “We aim to hit a diverse audience across the country and break down our outreach into different categories: food and music festivals, outdoor competitions, air shows, state fairs, collegiate games and more! We also have the Mexico National Team soccer games this year.”

The work starts long before the event begins as Dana reaches out to RV dealerships and manufacturers in search of interest in supplying the RVs. Load-in and load-out times, as well as the other logistics are communicated to them days, if not weeks before the event date. Typically, about half a dozen brand ambassadors are hired through Go RVing’s agency to help set up, interact with the guests and hand out giveaway items. Giveaways, tents, and games are also shipped to the location before showtime.

“The idea is to put the industry’s products in front of people who are not yet RVers, but who certainly could be. Some people have knowledge of RVs and others really know nothing about them. It’s an educational experience for the visitors to tour the RVs and talk to us along with the dealership representatives,” Dana shares. “We can’t have RV tours without the RVs, so without the dealership’s participation there would be no experiential events. The dealership also gains a lot from participation including free publicity for both their products and dealership, as well as free access to consumer leads from the local area. It’s an all-around win for the RV industry.”
