Targeting Adventure-Seeking Consumers In the Golden State: California RV Show To Launch In Brand New Venue

Aug 28, 2019

The RV lifestyle allows for a special kind of freedom. With an RV, you can explore the road less traveled, stop when you please, and connect with family, friends and nature in a comfortable setting. It’s the only travel option that truly offers the best of both worlds — direct access to the great outdoors, plus all the modern conveniences of home.

With all the benefits that the RV lifestyle has to offer, it’s no wonder that RV ownership has grown by leaps and bounds over the past decade. From 2009 to 2018, wholesale RV shipments to North America increased a whopping 204.5%. Part of it has to do with a more diverse group of consumers embracing the RV lifestyle. While Baby Boomers have been driving RV industry expansion since the 1990s, RV retail registrations data collected by Statistical Surveys, Inc., found that the share of RV ownership by age range increased in the younger age brackets for the 2015-2018 period.

California has taken the top spot as the leading destination for RV deliveries. This isn’t so surprising, given that the Golden State’s southern region is known as “RV central.” The area lures RV travelers from all over the country with its spectacular surroundings – from the awe-inspiring Joshua Tree National Park, to beachfront campgrounds at Carlsbad and Cardiff-by-the-Sea and mountain hideaways like Big Bear Lake and Idyllwild.

Not only that, the West Coast’s largest consumer sales event is a prominent stomping ground for RVers to begin or continue their RV adventures. This coming October, the California RV Show kicks off in a brand-new location, the Auto Club Speedway, and it’s another perfect opportunity to remind buyers of all types, the amazing memories that are created when you travel and vacation in an RV. Over 40,000 attendees will be able to check out more than one million square feet of all the latest and greatest RVs, as well as experience great music and food, celebrity appearances, rides and other family-friendly attractions.

With the “RVs for all generations” trend likely continue in the coming years, Baby Boomers, Gen X and Millennials reaching ages traditionally having the highest rates of RV ownership should continue the rise of the market. If you’re on the West Coast, the California RV Show is an ideal place to get on the road to happy camping.
