About the Role:

As the Director, Learning & Strategy, you will play a key leadership role in shaping and scaling the RV Technical Institute’s training programs to reduce the RV technician shortage and enhance service quality nationwide. Working closely with the RVTI Executive Director/Senior Vice President of Standards and key industry partners, you will drive long-term sustainability and impact across technician development, dealership support roles, and internal operations.

This is a strategic, hands-on opportunity for an experienced L&D professional with a strong background in program development, relationship building, and organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and expansion of scalable training programs for RV technicians, service managers, and advisors.
  • Design and implement trainer development models and assessment standards.
  • Champion the value of technician development as a core business success driver.
  • Collaborate with RVTI leadership on strategy, sustainability, budgeting, and governance.
  • Build and nurture industry relationships with dealers, OEMs, RVDA, and RVIA.
  • Use data-driven insights to inform curriculum evolution and organizational planning.
  • Drive a culture of continuous learning and innovation within RVTI’s team.
  • Represent RVTI externally with professionalism and purpose.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher required
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in learning and development, preferably in vocational/technical training environments
    • Background in the RV industry, ideally from the service or training side, is highly preferred
    • Demonstrated leadership in designing and scaling training programs
  • Skills:
    • Strategic thinking with the ability to connect big-picture goals to on-the-ground execution
    • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement abilities
    • Comfort with ambiguity, change, and creating structure
    • Hands-on approach combined with executive-level foresight
    • Passion for feedback, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Additional Information

  • This is a hybrid position based at our RVTI Campus located in Elkhart, IN. The role requires a regular in-office presence (typically three days per week) with the flexibility to work remotely on other days.
  • Travel may be required up to 25–50%, including occasional weekends and holidays
