About the Role:

As the Federal Legislative Associate, you will support the RV Industry Association’s federal advocacy efforts across a broad range of policy areas, including tax, trade, and outdoor recreation. Working under the direction of the Director of Federal Affairs, you’ll develop written materials, coordinate meetings and events, and assist in communicating strategic legislative priorities to key stakeholders. You’ll also work closely with internal departments and external partners to increase advocacy capacity and strengthen relationships with Congress and the Administration.

This is a dynamic opportunity for a legislative professional with a commitment to policy and public affairs to contribute directly to the advancement of the RV industry’s federal agenda.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft written collateral in support of federal legislative and regulatory priorities
  • Join advocacy meetings with members of Congress, Administration officials, and staff
  • Support the RV Caucus through communications and event coordination
  • Schedule internal and external meetings with government and industry stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the MarComm team to distribute advocacy updates to members
  • Assist in managing the association’s grassroots advocacy platform
  • Provide cross-functional support on special projects and events, including RVs Move America Week

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Degree or experience emphasizing legislative, writing, qualitative, or analytical skills preferred
  • Experience:
    • 1–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a legislative or policy role within a trade association or on Capitol Hill
    • Familiarity with the federal legislative process is strongly preferred
  • Skills:
    • Strong legislative analysis, writing, and communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
    • Collaborative mindset and experience working cross-functionally
    • Demonstrated integrity and a “members first” mentality
    • Preferred: Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce/Nimble and Quorum

Additional Information

This position involves frequent visits to Capitol Hill and federal agencies, occasionally outside regular business hours. Extended hours should be expected during RVs Move America Week and other key events. Some travel may be required to support association events, member visits, and relevant conferences.
